About Sky Soup

We are thrilled to begin our third year in Narberth and our eighth in operation. Sky Soup Art Center offers art education that is creative, enriching, nurturing, and fun! A child-centered studio is a place where people can communicate visually in various media. Contact Heather by calling 215-237-5561

Children can choose from ongoing art classes, art camps over spring & summer break, weekend workshops, and art birthday parties.

The mission of the Center is to provide a place to explore art-making with a wide range of materials. We are interested in the process over product. Projects are designed around a theme and are age-appropriate. Children learn many art lessons. These lessons include: all problems have more than one solution, each person interprets the world differently, slight differences have significant effects, and judgment rather than rules prevail. Art-making helps children grow their visual voice joyfully as they find the unanticipated possibilities of their expression as their work develops

About Heather Exley, Creative Director & Owner

Heather is a Bala Cynwyd artist and teacher with deep roots in Philadelphia and the Main Line. In her work with children, she promotes Quaker values of respect, integrity, and equality while providing a child-oriented experience of self-expression and community. In her classroom, she gets children excited about creative risk-taking so they can develop their visual voice. A graduate of Rosemont College with a focus in both psychology & elementary education, Heather has grown children. She works in cut paper, clay, textiles, and photography.

Several children had the opportunity to join songwriter and musician, Tim LaBorie, and record their voices for his original song "At The Watch." This song raises environmental awareness for an annual community event at Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere Reserve on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia.

The beautiful album cover was drawn by Ann LaBorie.
